Recently, Travel + Leisure asked their readers to take a vote to reveal what their hometown does best. Cleveland makes a well-deserved appearance throughout their poll's results.
Each year, the Travel + Leisure "America's Favorite Places" survey challenges its readers to dish about what they know best.
No matter how well-traveled you are, home will always be the most beautiful place in your eyes. You know it better than any other destination in the world, and nothing can mimic the warm familiarity of the community to which you belong. Some communities, though, are truly exceptional.
Readers ranked their communities in a number of categories, ranging from the locals' demeanor to the tastiness of their burgers.
Armed with a deep knowledge of America's favorite cities, they analyzed the nation's most notable places and categorized them.
Turns out, Clevelanders ooze pride for their spectacular hometown!
When it comes to America's favorite places, Cleveland is a shoo-in to make the list. Turns out, we round out the list of Favorite Places as the 20th most popular city, coveted for its Midwestern charm and international cuisine.
Unsurprisingly, Cleveland was ranked among the friendliest cities in the nation.
Clevelanders check in at number 14 when it comes to friendliest locals. The number one spot on the list is Buffalo, a community affectionately known as the "City of Good Neighbors."
The underrated features of our city have now been revealed to the world.
Over the last decade, Clevelanders have enjoyed watching their city evolve. What was once bitterly nicknamed "The Mistake on the Lake" is now a community overflowing with arts, preservation efforts, and spectacular residents. A well-deserved honor, Cleveland checks in at number four on a list of the most underrated cities.
