So, we all know New Jersey is one of the best states you can live in. There are beaches, there are mountains, there are small towns, and proximity to two of the biggest cities in the United States (Philadelphia and New York City). There are great food and great fun to be found here. And now we know where exactly in the state people want to live.
According to 2020 real estate data, these are the five towns that everyone wanted to move to this year — they had the most closings on single-family homes in the state. We've presented the towns from number five all the way to number one.
Hamilton Township, Mercer County
Hamilton Township, which has over 87,000 residents, has a lot going for it. It's close to Philadelphia, New York City and Trenton. It's safe and peaceful. Plus, it's home to Grounds for Sculpture!
Jackson, Ocean County
Home to over 55,000 people and counting, Jackson is pretty with plenty of great shopping and restaurants. Plus, it's home to Six Flags Great Adventure, making it a great place for thrill-seekers to live.
Cherry Hill, Camden County
Cherry Hill, with a population of over 71,000 is so close to Philly — only eight miles from Center City. Plus, there are plenty of stunning parks and delicious restaurants.
Brick Township, Ocean County
It makes sense more than 77,000 people have made their way to Brick Township. After all, proximity to the beach is a massive benefit!
Toms River, Ocean County
Toms River had the most closings in 2020 — people really want to buy homes here! The charming beach town really has a lot going for it: a gorgeous waterfront, plenty of food and dining options, a Real Housewife (Melissa Gorga's summer home is here), and more. Over 92,000 people live in the town.
Of course, New Jersey has so many amazing towns to live in.
We don't know how we could pick just one!
At the end of the day, we can't imagine living anywhere other than New Jersey, regardless of the town.
