It's no secret that laws are made to protect us... usually. However, it seems as though these days legislators are trying to control people's lives a little too much, and some of the laws they make are flat-out insane. Check out these ten weird Nevada laws below to understand exactly what we mean. They've all been in the law books at one time or another, and some still are. Granted, most are not enforced now, but they're completely real ... and ... well, that's all we're going to say. Behold:
1. It's illegal to drive a camel on the highway.
Welp, there goes our Friday plans, then.
2. It's still "legal" to hang someone if they shoot your dog on your property.
...this one might be reasonable.
3. In Reno, it's illegal to hide a spray-painted shopping cart in your basement.
Can we get the story here?
4. Mothers must have a state license before giving their daughters a perm.
No license, no perm, you know the rules.
5. In Elko, everyone walking the streets must wear a mask.
Sounds like Elko was the place to be in 2020.
6. In Reno, benches are not allowed to be placed in the middle of any street.
We know we hate it when we're driving along and suddenly, BENCH.
7. In Nyala, a man is forbidden from purchasing drinks for more than three people other than himself at any one period during the day.
So much for those work parties at Applebees, huh?
8. In Las Vegas, it's illegal to pawn your dentures.
...okay but who would buy them
9. In Eureka, men who have mustaches are forbidden from kissing women.
... again, kinda reasonable. At least we think so.
10. In Reno, it's illegal to lie down on the sidewalk.
So much for that nice, warm sleeping spot in the park.
Which of these laws do you think is the most bizarre? Do you know of any truly bizarre Nevada laws? After all, for a place that's home to "Sin City", we sure have some strange laws on the books.
