1. Hot Chicken
We're just going to start out with the obvious one here: Hot Chicken. The delicious, cayenne-pepper-smothered poultry has become something of a national phenomenon, and you can find Nashville Hot Chicken specials as far away as Europe!
3. The Mother Church
The Ryman is known as one of the TOP venues to see your favorite artist perform in the United States, and it's a must-play for musicians. The historic location was the original location of the Grand Ole Opry, though it has since been moved to a new building.

The Grand Ole Opry is America's longest-running radio broadcast, and it's still entertaining thousands of folks a year.
4. Cotton Candy
Cotton candy was invented, shockingly, by a dentist (!!) right here in Nashville, Tennessee. Who would've thought it would become a summertime staple?
5. Goo Goo Clusters
Goo Goo Clusters are a Nashville standard and is known as the first combination candy bar in American history. The sphere of caramel, roasted peanuts, marshmallow, and nougat is smothered in chocolate and downright delectable.
6. Cracker Barrel
Cracker Barrel is famous for its indulgent Southern menu, but did you know that its original location was in Lebanon, right outside of Nashville? The next time you nosh on a stack of pancakes the size of your head, you can silently thank Music City.
7. Gibson Guitars
Gibson Guitars were originally handcrafted in Kalamazoo, Michigan, but the company has since moved its headquarters to Nashville.
8. Vinyl
United Record Pressing, LLC in Nashville, Tennessee is where you'll find a large majority of vinyl records produced nowadays. If you love your old record player, then Nashville is the city you need to thank for continuing to spin out new - literal - records.
9. DoubleTree Cookies
If you've ever stayed at a DoubleTree Hotel, then you've most likely had the chance to indulge in one of their complimentary cookies. Those cookies? Are Christie Cookies from Nashville, Tennessee, and there's now a storefront on 12South and national shipping. Score!
10. Miley Cyrus
Although not quite an "invention," Miley Cyrus was born and raised right outside of Nashville in the wealthy suburb of Franklin, Tennessee. Where would we be without Hannah Montana?! The world shudders to even think.
