Part of the larger 1,000-acre Hodge Park, the 80-acre living history museum is home to a village with 21 buildings, of which 13 date back to the 1800s.
The Missouri museum's grounds are open daily from dawn to dusk. However, the buildings are only open during special events that the museum hosts throughout the year.
Keep an eye out for such events as the Harvest Festival, Kids Safe Trick-or-Treat, and a Visit from St. Nicholas at Christmastime.
Events at the museum typically also feature actors, so you can experience a taste of life in a 19th-century village in Missouri.
