Kansas is generally considered to be a somewhat safe and quiet place to live... however, just like the other 49, there are still a few downsides to living in the state, which include:
1. Becoming a diehard KU or K-State fan...
Get ready to eat, sleep, and breathe all things Jayhawk or Wildcat! (In our home, we're all about that red and blue!)
2. ...and in turn picking fights with every OU, Baylor, and Nebraska fan you come across.
They voluntarily wore the apparel and cheered on the team... therefore they were asking for it!
3. Tornadoes
Yes, they are seasonally common yet uncommonly beautiful... but they are also extremely dangerous, so we do not recommend chasing them!
4. Earthquakes
They may be somewhat tame, but they are still something to keep in mind and prepare for.
5. Flood
Feeling leery of natural disasters yet? So are we... let's move on.
6. Death by a broken heart...
7. ...humidity...
If you have spent a single summer day in Kansas, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
8. ...allergies...
What can we say? We grow a lot of wheat and sunflowers!
9. ...and/or calories.
Seeing as though our ancestors come from Europe, it's no wonder we are so into our baked good recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation!
10. Snakes
Remember when I mentioned we grow a lot of wheat and sunflowers? Let's just say that if you take your Benadryl and walk through the field, you may want to watch your step...
