Many attractive people have been born in Florida, and some of them have become famous, but only a few of them are what we would call truly beautiful. Because of their incredible talent, philanthropy, or ability to make us laugh even on the worst of days, these people have earned a place in our hearts and a spot on our list of the most beautiful people ever born in Florida.
1. Maya Rudolph
Lovely Maya Rudolph was born in Gainesville, though she grew up in Los Angeles. She is a talented singer, actress, and comedian, and we think the world's a little brighter because she's in it.
2. Sidney Poitier
You might be surprised to learn this Bahamian-American actor, director, writer and diplomat was born in Miami. In 2009, he received the Medal of Freedom, our country's highest civilian honor.
3. Bella Thorne
This young actress, singer and model was born in Pembroke Pines. Not only has she made great strides in her struggle with dyslexia, she is an avid supporter of many charitable organizations, including the Humane Society and The Nomad Organization.
4. Debbie Harry
You probably recognize her from the band Blondie. She grew up in New Jersey, but she was born in Miami. Her physical beauty is obvious, but what we really admire is her commitment to making philanthropy central to her life. Her charities include those devoted to fighting cancer and endometriosis.
5. Faye Dunaway
Faye Dunaway was born in Bascom, a tiny town in Northwest Florida, though most of her childhood was spent traveling with her family. Not only is she so gorgeous it almost makes you angry, she is widely considered one of the greatest actors of our time.
6. Cheryl Hines
Actress, director and producer Cheryl Hines was hilarious as Larry David's wife on Curb Your Enthusiasm, but her big heart steals the show. She became involved with United Cerebral Palsy when her nephew was diagnosed, and she uses her celebrity to bring attention to this very worthy cause.
7. Tom Petty
Tom Petty is one of the best selling music artists of all time, with hits that continue to entertain and inspire generations of fans. He was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
8. Catherine Keener
Catherine Keener is a well respected actress who has been working since 1986 and has been nominated for an Academy Award twice. She was born and raised in Miami. Her commitment to aging gracefully is unique in Hollywood, and we think she looks even more beautiful because of it.
8. Ashley Rickards
Ashley Rickards was born and raised in Sarasota. She's a member of Mensa and graduated high school at the age of 15. She stars in the MTV series Awkward, and played a girl with severe autism in the 2011 independent film Fly Away. In 2011, she helped launch the Project Futures Somaly Mam Foundation to fight human trafficking in Southeast Asia.
10. Joanna Garcia Swisher
You may recognize Joanna from several TV shows, including her long-running role on Reba, and more recent roles in Once Upon a Time and The Astronaut Wives Club. She was born and raised in Tampa.
She is involved in many causes, from raising awareness about cervical cancer to helping girls and young women organize charity events around the country.
