From our captivating beaches to our charming small towns, Florida is definitely the coolest state in the nation. Of course, we're a little biased, but here are just a few reasons we think there's no place like home:
1. Some of the country's best beaches are never far away.
Thanks to our thousands of miles of scenic coastline, you're never too far from the beach, no matter where you live. Even in Central Florida, a beach day trip is always an option. And these aren't just any old excuses for beaches, Florida has some of the most beautiful, award-winning beaches in the country.
2. There's always something fun to do.
Some people dream of going to a Disney park their entire lives but distance makes it impossible. It's pretty cool to have Disney World and lots of other theme parks right in the middle of the state.
3. If you ever get tired of the beach, there are the equally dazzling springs.
Swim in the crystal-clear water, go tubing down lazy rivers, and enjoy the Great Outdoors at one of our natural water parks. They're much more scenic and more affordable than their man-made counterparts, too.
4. Grocery shopping here is a real pleasure.
Florida is the birthplace of Publix Supermarkets, and most Floridians adore this store for its spotless appearance and fresh produce. It's also the best place to pick up everything from a sub sandwich to a kid's birthday cake.
5. Our small towns are downright adorable.
Most people know about our beaches and theme parks, but our small towns don't get nearly enough coverage. In pretty much every part of Florida, you can find a ridiculously charming small town to spend the day.
6. We have easy access to lots of fresh seafood.
There's nothing tastier than fresh seafood, and depending on how it's prepared, it can also be great for your health. Good luck getting seafood this good in a land-locked state.
7. Our state is bursting with history and culture.
Walk the cobblestone streets of the nation's oldest city in St. Augustine. Enjoy authentic Greek cuisine in Tarpon Springs. Explore a plethora of fascinating cultural and historical landmarks in South Florida. People (especially in other places) often forget about the vibrant, authentic Florida that goes beyond the theme parks.
8. We have jaw-dropping natural wonders...
Ethereal escapes like the stunning Devil's Den in Williston will convince you that Florida is one of the most magnificent places on the planet.
9. ...and gorgeous man-made wonders, too.
Miami is famous for its collection of Art Deco buildings, but this gem is hidden in Central Florida.This building sits on Florida Polytechnic University's campus and has earned a lot of praise for its innovative design. Other stunning examples of man-made beauty include Bok Tower in Lake Wales and the Venetian Pool in Coral Gables.
10. Florida has the most beautiful sunsets in the world.
Whether you're on a romantic beach or on your drive home from work, catching a Florida sunset is always a magical experience.
