It's truly amazing to see how places have progressed over the years and how thankful we are that so much Detroit history was captured in photographs! Detroit has changed drastically from the late 1800s to now, and these old photos of Detroit show us just how different our city looked. 1. The Majestic Building in the 1890s with a moonlight tower, which became the first practical electrical lights!
2. Here's a photo of Woodward Avenue, Grand Circus Park, and Central United Methodist Church in the background dating back to 1910!
3. The 4 o'clock shift at the Ford Motor Company assembly plant in Detroit. This photo was taken between 1910 and 1920.
4. Campus Martius Park looks completey different now. This photo was taken between 1910 and 1920.

7. Police inspecting an underground brewery during prohibition in Detroit. Prohibition in the states took place between the 1920s until 1933.
