We have an honest question: When you saw the title of this article, were you even surprised? Probably not. Colorado is famous for its terrible drivers and made-up "green means go, yellow means go, and red means you have another 10 seconds before you have to stop" rules, but when it gets national attention and ranks in the Top 20, you know we have issues. The rumors are true: For two years running Colorado Springs, is said to be home to the 16th worst drivers in America, coming in behind the likes of Bakersfield (#1), San Francisco (#5), and Fresno (#7). Um, California what happened?
How did Quote Wizard come to this conclusion? Factoring in traffic accidents, citations, DUIs, and speeding tickets, Colorado Springs ranked the highest in Colorado in overall incidents, with Denver coming in not far behind at #27.
You can only imagine what this does for car insurance rates in Colorado Springs and Denver.
Because insurance companies keep a close eye on these driving statistics, you bet your bottom dollar being on the worst drivers list isn't healthy for average car insurance rates in those cities.
