Is there anything more nostalgic than getting your groove on at a disco, checkered laminate flooring, or a root beer float from a 50's diner? No, there isn't...and lucky for us, Colorado is home to several of these retro treasures, including:
1. Manitou Springs Penny Arcade (Manitou Springs)
Dig up some quarters and head to Manitou for an inexpensive day of old-school arcade game play!
2. Estes Park Old Fashioned Candy Store (Estes Park)
Pick your (sugary) poison from one of the many jars or bins at this nostalgic treasure!
3. 88 Drive-In Theatre (Commerce City)
The 88 Drive-In is one of only a few hundred drive-in theaters left in the country, so be sure to check it out for blockbuster hits, yummy cinema grub and a memorable night under the stars.
4. Fifty-Two 80’s: A Totally Awesome Shop (Denver)
The 80's called and they want you to visit this rad store full of 1980's toys, sports memorabilia, and collectibles--it's totally gnarly!
5. Brush Roller Rink (Brush)
A disco ball, upbeat music and yummy food counter grub await you on the eastern plains.
6. I-70 Diner (Flagler)
You know you've hit the 1950's jackpot when you walk into a restaurant with checkered laminate, blaring Elvis tunes and Coca-Cola memorabilia hanging on the walls. Oh, and the food? AMAZING!!!
7. Moe’s Original BBQ (Aurora)
In addition to some tasty BBQ, Moe's is home to a groovy bowling alley (pictured) and arcade with vintage games.
8. The Starlite Campground (Canon City)
You haven't *really* camped until you've spent a night in one of the Starlite Campground's vintage trailers, (including this ADORABLE 1962 Tepee, referred to as the "Flamingo Lounge!')
9. The Horseshoe Lounge (Denver)
Every Friday, the Shoe hosts a retro dance party with no cover charge, cheap drinks and old school jams--now THAT is what I call a #FlashbackFriday!
10. Lyon’s Corner Drug & Soda Fountain (Steamboat Springs)
Medicine isn't the best medicine; incredible burgers and hand-dipped cones are, which Lyon's Corner Drug fulfills!
