These 10 spots have a generally strong and secure reputation, however it does mean you'd be immune to crime here or anywhere in Fog City. Here are 10 of the safest places to live in San Francisco, according to official crime statistics.
1. Diamond Heights
Diamond Heights may be the city’s safest neighborhood. In 2015, there were only 11 crimes per half-mile radius reported. Diamond Heights is a neighborhood roughly bordered by Diamond Heights Boulevard and Noe Valley to the north and east and Glen Canyon Park to the south and west.
2. Sea Cliff
Sea Cliff, the area tucked between the Presidio, Lincoln Park and the ocean, often ranks as SF’s most exclusive and serene spot.
3. The Presidio
Since the Presidio is, after all, a national park, it makes sense that it’s less crime-ridden than most parts of San Francisco. The beauty here is awe-inspiring and peaceful compared to most parts of the city.
4. Presidio Heights
Most hustle and bustle in Presidio Heights is from visitors admiring the neighborhood’s prestigious homes. In this area, you'll come across wide, quiet streets and expansive, lush gardens that line the front entrances of Presidio Heights’ regal homes.
5. St. Francis Wood
St. Francis Wood is a wealthy neighborhood located in southwestern San Francisco, south of the West Portal neighborhood and west of Mount Davidson. St. Francis Wood has a population of roughly 1,228, making it a small, quiet, and less crowded area of the city.
6. Noe Valley
Also, known as "Stroller Valley," this neighborhood has an air of remoteness and seclusion from the city. There are elegant Victorians and a peaceful calm that attracts families to the neighborhood.
7. Laurel Heights
Laurel Heights is a small, quaint neighborhood located just east of Inner Richmond. This is a part of town that feels relatively untouched by the chaos of the city.
8. Pacific Heights
If you want quiet and safety, then surround yourself with the luxurious mansions and posh buildings in Pacific Heights. This neighborhood exemplifies a restrained and prim charm with dynamic shops amid classic architectural style.
9. Twin Peaks
Located in the heart of the city, Twin Peaks is a beautiful neighborhood that has two of San Francisco’s highest summits. Twin Peaks offers quiet seclusion from the city below.
10. Miraloma Park
Miraloma Park is between two forests basically, and surrounded by nature quite different from the surrounding parts of San Francisco.
