Sometimes we need a little reminder just how blessed we are to live in a place like Southern California. Whether you are a long-time resident or you've only had the chance to visit for a short vacation, here are some of our favorite spots in SoCal that will remind you why this may be one of the most beautiful places you've ever seen.
1. Soaking up SoCal's beauty at Balboa Park is one of many ways to have a perfect day.
2. If you're in search for a beautiful Southern California destination, just hop in the car and take a Sunday drive in Del Mar and cross the North Torrey Pines Bridge and look out across the water. It's perfection.
3. Catalina Island is a place to daydream. Just sit back and look out at the view and take in the surroundings. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.
4. When you're in need of a little peace and quiet, there's nothing more serene than heading out in nature to one of SoCal's many parks. Pictured here: Fairmount Park in Riverside.
5. Pick any Southern California pier at sunset and you'll be transported to a place of pure magnificence. Make sure to linger a while and watch the sun slip behind the ocean. Pictured here: Manhattan Beach Pier.
6. The Getty Center never disappoints. What a special spot to visit all year long.
7. SoCal is just as mesmerizing underground. This lava tube in Mojave National Reserve is a shining example of what to expect in this corner of our beautiful state.
8. Seeing the Point Loma Lighthouse in San Diego is like looking at a postcard. Such a picturesque setting that gets more beautiful with time.
9. Whenever you need a little pick-me-up and want to see nature at its finest, a trip to The Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens in San Marino will always do the trick.
10. This mysterious 60-foot concrete castle known as Victoria Beach Tower is a true marvel. Located in Laguna Beach, this unexpected beauty will make your jaw drop.
11. Just feast your eyes on this landscape that was captured from Ventura Harbor.
12. There's no question that Hotel del Coronado is a destination for many people who visit Southern California. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, taking a walk along the grounds of Hotel Del will open your eyes to this slice of paradise in SoCal.
13. Cabrillo National Monument in Point Loma is one place you'll want to visit to experience some of the best scenery in SoCal. Take a walk along the cliffs of the Tidepool and Bluff Trail for an epic afternoon. But proceed with caution, as this spot is slippery when wet.
