Paragould Arkansas is nicknamed the "Friendly City," but you might know it as the home of the scenic Crowley Ridge State Park. The “Friendly City” of Paragould is located along the scenic Crowley’s Ridge Byway in the Arkansas Delta. And interestingly, it’s the only town in the world with its name.
Established in 1883, Paragould is mostly known for its rich history as well as its monuments and historical landmarks.
The historic downtown is a must-visit and is filled with lots to see. You’ll love a photo op next to the caboose, which represents the city’s significant role in the railroad industry.
In addition to its rich history, the town is also known for its adorable "main street" area.

But it’s the monuments in Paragould that are the most notable landmarks. And one of the most significant is the seven-foot replica of the Statue of Liberty.
Situated on the lawn of the Green County Courthouse, the bronze Lady Liberty is the oldest of its kind in the entire country.
Sculpted by John Paulding in 1920, the iconic statue was cast by the American Art Bronze Foundry in Chicago, Illinois.
After completion, the statue was erected in front of the Old Greene County Courthouse. And it's a war memorial in honor of soldiers of Green County who served during WWI.
In 1997, the landmark was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Arkansas. Along with other war memorials around Paragould, you can easily tell that this town fully respects and cares about its veterans.
