I’m not saying you’re not a true Arkansan if you haven’t already done these things. In fact, if you live or lived in Arkansas and consider yourself an Arkansan, you’re a true Arkansan. But I am saying hey you, Arkansan, Arkansawyer, fan of the Natural State, look at this cool list of things you really need to do while you’re still wandering the planet earth looking for valuable ways to spend your time. Below there are 23 amazing things right here in Arkansas that you really need to add to your bucket list right away.
1. Wades in a creek. Any old creek will do.
2. Paddles down the Buffalo.
There’s a reason the Buffalo National River is the most popular sporting river in Arkansas.
3. Eats tomatoes fresh from the vine.
4. Explores the wonders of Devil’s Den State Park.
5. Fries up summer squash they grew themselves.
6. Fishes for bass on Lake Chicot near Lake Village.
7. Fishes for brown trout on the White River near Cotter.
8. Boats around Beaver Lake.
9. Hikes to Cedar Falls in Petit Jean State Park.
I was going to say "hikes to Hemmed-In-Hollow Falls," but then I realized it’s totally understandable if you can’t make that super intense hike. Cedar Falls is totally lovely and much more accessible.
10. Gets lost in Lost Valley.
11. Steps into the history of the Delta at Lakeport Plantation.
12. Looks off the top of Mount Magazine.
13. Visits White Rock Mountain as the leaves turn.
14. Explores an island in Lake Ouachita.
There are more than a hundred islands in Lake Ouachita, and they all need to be explored.

16. Strolls through the sculpture garden at Terra Studios near Elkins.
