The overall rankings in Arkansas health by city represents how healthy counties are within the state. The healthiest county in the state is ranked first according to its county seat. The ranks are based on two types of measures: how healthy Arkansas residents feel and how long people live.
19. Paragould
According to statistics gathered by County Health Rankings and Roadmaps, Greene County, Arkansas has 14% of its residents claiming poor or fair health as opposed to excellent or above average status. Citizens in the county seat of Paragould have a ratio of 1,877 primary care physicians for every 1 patient. 74% of the county's residents have adequate access to physical fitness and 34% of residents are reported as obese. Excessive drinking isn't a problem in Greene County either, with only 11% of the population reporting an issue with intoxicants.
18. Waldron
Scott County reports that 90% of its residents have access to adequate physical fitness and only 31% of the population claim physical inactivity. The county seat of Waldron has a ratio of 3,670 primary care physicians for every 1 patient. Scott County also has only 18% of its residents claiming poor or fair health.
17. Clarksville
Johnson County has a considerable ratio of primary care physicians to patients at 1,619:1 according to County Health Rankings and Roadmaps, but 25% of the population still reports in with a poor or fair health status. 24% of Johnson County's residents - including in the county seat of Clarksville - are uninsured, according to the statistics. 53% of the county's residents have adequate access to exercise and 32% of the population is marked as being obese with another 35% claiming they partake in limited physical activity.
16. Fort Smith
Despite the size of Fort Smith, Sebastian County only has a ratio of 878 primary care physicians for every patient. Dentistry is doing a little better for county residents with a ratio of 1,415 dentists for every patient. 19% of Sebastian County's residents report in with poor or fair health and 64% of the population has access to adequate exercise opportunities.
15. Ashdown
Only 19% of residents in Little River County are reportedly uninsured. The county seat of Ashdown has residents who have a multitude of dentists to choose from - Little River County has a ratio of 3,813 dentists for every 1 patient. 62% of people from around here report having adequate opportunities for fitness while 17% of the county's population claims poor or fair overall health status.
14. Mt. Ida
Only 20% of the Montgomery County, Arkansas population reports in as being in poor or fair health. Mount Ida, the county seat of Montgomery County, has a great ratio of 4,670 to 1 when it comes to primary care physicians to patients and 98% of the county's population has adequate exercise access. 31% of the county's residents report obesity while 29% report physical inactivity in Montgomery County.
13. Hampton
Despite the size of Fort Smith, Sebastian County only has a ratio of 878 primary care physicians for every patient. 12. Yellville
Everyone should be smiling proudly in Marion County, as citizens are at a ratio of 8,215 dentists to 1 patient. Yellville is the county seat of Marion County and 22% of the county itself claims to be uninsured while primary care physicians in this area are at a ratio of 3,314 doctors to 1 patient. 60% of the county's residents have access to adequate exercise.
11. Searcy
Searcy is the county seat of White County and the residents can say that only 17% of their population are in poor or merely fair health. Only 28% of the population considers themselves physically inactive while over 55% of the county has access to adequate exercise opportunities.
10. Russellville
Only 18% of Pope County's residents report being in poor or fair health, and the primary care physician to patient ratio is 1,494 to 1. Russellville, the county seat, remains a great place to get a workout with 87% of the town and the rest of the county's population having access to exercise opportunities. Approximately 12% of the population has reported excessive drinking.
9. Lonoke
Lonoke County enjoys a great ratio of primary care physicians to patients at 5,372 to 1. Dentists are just as plentiful with a ratio of 3,724 to 1. The county's percentage of adult obesity is an approximated 34% and 64% of the residents have adequate access to exercise. 17% of Lonoke County's residents report themselves in poor or fair health.
8. Jonesboro
Craighead County comes in eighth out of 75 Arkansas counties ranked by health factors. 18% of the county's residents report themselves in poor or fair health. The county seat of Jonesboro shares with nearby towns a ratio of 997:1 primary care physicians to patients. Only 10% of the population in Craighead County reports excessive drinking and 63% of residents have adequate access to exercise.
7. Huntsville
Huntsville, Arkansas, the county seat of Madison County, enjoys a healthy water supply as 0% of the population has reported any drinking water violations in 2015. 22% of the county's population reported as being in poor or fair health. Approximately 33% of Madison County's residents are clinically obese, and 52% of the population has access to adequate exercise opportunities.

Approximately 22% of the county's residents report being in poor or fair health. The ratio of primary care physicians to patients is 2,812 to 1. 60% of the population has adequate access to exercise opportunities. Murfreesboro, the county seat, remains a hard-working gem of a town as residents only report approximately 2.7 sick days off work every year.
5. Harrison
Boone County ranks fifth among the rest of the Arkansas counties when judging health and wellness factors . Harrison, the county seat, has a variety of dental care available to residents with a ratio of 1,870 dentists to 1 patient. An estimated 17% of the Boone County population reports in as being in poor or fair health.
4. Fayetteville
Washington County came in fourth when ranked among other Arkansas counties regarding factors of quality and length of life. Fayetteville, the county seat, has reported 21% of residents who have no health insurance and a high ratio of primary care physicians to patients (approximately 1,251 to 1 according to County Health 2015 statistics). Only 29% of Washington County adult residents are reported as being clinically obese.
3. Conway
Faulkner County comes in third when ranked by health factor among the rest of Arkansas's counties. Conway, the county seat, is one of the towns reporting that 71% of the population has access to adequate fitness opportunities. Only 15% of Faulkner County's population reports excessive drinking. Approximately 4 sick days are reportedly taken annually among the population of the county.
2. Benton
Ranking second out of the 75 Arkansas counties in a 2015 health factor study, Saline County's population reports that 73% of the county's residents have access to adequate exercise opportunities. 15% of the Saline County population is uninsured. Benton, the county seat of Saline County, enjoys a large number of available primary care physicians with a ratio of approximately 2,601 doctors to 1 patient.
1. Bentonville
Benton County ranks first out of the 75 total counties in Arkansas when it comes to length of life and quality of life. According to 2015 statistics provided by County Health Rankings and Roadmaps, 13% of the county's population report to be in poor or fair health. 27% of the population reports in as being at an obese weight as an adult. Bentonville residents along with neighboring towns in Benton County are practicing the best health behaviors when it comes to taking care of their weight and making the most of fitness opportunities.
