The best thing about the Natural State is just how many ways it can be enjoyed. Want to surround yourself in endless forest? Can do. See unexpected beauty below ground? Got it. Walk behind a waterfall? Sure thing. But if you're wanting another sort of Arkansas adventure, then how about a chance to see the natural state from a whole new perspective? Let's take to the skies for some jaw-dropping experiences.
1. Hike to the high ground.
If the thought of your feet leaving the ground is a bit unnerving, not to worry. Mount Magazine is the perfect place for a panoramic perspective of the valley below without taking to the skies. An easy 1.5-mile hike will take you to the top of Signal Hill, the highest point in the state at 2,753-ft.
2. Zip over the valley.
Have only the sound of wind whipping past your ears as you conquer the Iron Horse zip-line at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. The line is the fastest, longest, and tallest in the entire state. Reach up to speeds over 50 mph and feel your heart drop as you plunge 277-ft straight down.
The ranch is at HC 70 BOX 261 in Jasper.
3. Glide in the sky.
For a smooth flight, take advantage of Arkansas' paragliding and hang gliding scene. Newbies should start with the River Valley Paragliding introductory course.
4. Sail across cities.
Please note: Balloon Little Rock has permanently closed.
Balloon Little Rock has your relaxed yet still thrilling way to see the city. Choose to fly with just the pilot and a friend or with a small group of eight. This is one jaw-dropping way to tour central Arkansas in an hour.

5. Freefall from your flight.
Please note: Skydive Skyranch has permanently closed.
The Skydive Skyranch in Siloam Springs is epitome of thrilling adventures. Have the chance to finally cross it off your bucket list as you take the plunge either with an instructor, solo but tethered, or completely solo if you're an experienced diver. Drop-offs take place between 11,200-19,000-ft. depending which aircraft you choose.

6. Sightseeing in style.
If you love the idea of an aerial view of Arkansas without the responsibility of pulling chutes, a tour with Arkansas Helicopters is the perfect choice. Short yet unforgettable tours start at $75/person to see uptown Fayetteville. It may be a bit far off now, but don't forget they offer affordable Christmas light tours as well.
