When you think of celebrities, you probably have in your mind that they're all from Los Angeles or New York City. After all, it's in these two cities that most celebrities have made their careers. But did you know that there are some celebrities who hail from some charming small towns in Arizona? Here are five celebrities from Arizona that you may recognize:
1. Joe Jonas -- Casa Grande
Yes, Joe Jonas is one of the three Jonas Brothers who rose to fame as a pop singer. He was born in Casa Grande in 1989 but did most of his growing up in New Jersey. However, he's probably one of the most famous people from Arizona.
While Casa Grande is technically a city, with less than 58,000 residents, it has more of a small-town feel. Casa Grande also has some fascinating attractions including the quirky Casa Grande Neon Sign Park that's certainly worth visiting!
2. Diana Gabaldon -- Williams
Diana Gabaldon is a writer best known for the Outlander book series from which the Starz episodic TV series is named. She was born in Williams, Arizona but now resides in another part of Arizona.
Known as the "Gateway to the Grand Canyon," the town of Williams is an excellent weekend getaway destination. Take a ride aboard the Grand Canyon Railway, take a drive down Arizona's Historic Route 66, and visit Bearizona where you can see bears freely roaming around from the comfort of your own car.
3. Justin Gaethje -- Safford
Known as a professional mixed martial artist and a fighter for the UFC, Justin Gaethje was born in the small town of Safford, Arizona in Graham County. He had attended Safford High School and was a state champion in wrestling.
Safford has a population of just over 10,000 residents. It's known for having some amazing Mexican restaurants and it is in close proximity to Gila Box Riparian National Conservation Area where you can go swimming during the Arizona summer heat.
4. Ambyr Childers -- Cottonwood
Known for playing one of Joe's love interests who met a fateful end on the Netflix thriller show You, Ambyr Childers was born in the small town of Cottonwood. However, she was raised in Murrieta, California.
The town of Cottonwood, Arizona has an incredible downtown historic district that everyone should spend a day exploring. Check out the architecture of the well-preserved buildings as you shop and dine along the town's Main Street.
5. Rex Allen -- Willcox
Rex Allen was a film actor who was born in Willcox, Arizona in 1920 and became known as "the American cowboy." He starred in numerous Western films during his acting career.
The small community of Willcox, Arizona has approximately 3,200 residents. Within the town are wineries, the Cowboy Hall of Fame, and the Rex Allen Museum.
