Being away from home is one of ways we learn to appreciate home. You know exactly where the light switch sits on the wall, that the pillow will be just the right level of fluffiness, and that home smells like home. There’s even little things that you tend to miss about Arizona when being away for any length of time. Here are ten things most Arizonans tend to do when they return home from a trip out of state.
1. Get a picture that proves you’re back in Arizona.
A quick pic or even just a glance at a "Welcome to Arizona" sign is one of the first real moments that you’re home.
2. Rejoice in viewing rugged mountains on the horizon.
Which of the 210 Arizona mountain ranges reminds you of home?
3. Soak up the sun.
A change of scenery with clouds and rain is nice but there’s nothing quite like knowing sunny days are ahead.
4. Dry out.
Most other places in the country are ridiculously humid right now, so Arizona’s dry air will feel like a godsend. Don’t forget to hydrate!
5. Quickly adjust to Arizona time.
Who needs Daylight Saving Time anyway?
6. Adjust the thermostat.
Unless you traveled from Phoenix back to Flagstaff, you’ll probably try to cool down your home while adjusting to the heat.
7. Enjoy the wide, blue skies.
8. Enjoy Arizona’s lovely scents.
Creosote after the rain? Yes.
9. Finally get a bite of some delicious Mexican food.
10. Or enjoy a meal from a city establishment, like Ned’s Krazy Sub or Eegee’s.
