6. Spend a day fishing on one of Alabama's lakes, streams or rivers.

8. Explore the Sipsey Wilderness.
The Sipsey Wilderness, located in the northern region of Alabama, is one of the best hiking spots in the U.S. It'll definitely bring out the explorer in you.
9. Stroll the grounds of Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

10. Enter Alabama's most amazing caves.
Alabama has one of the highest cave densities in the world. And some of the caves have lots of history.
11. Deal with unpredictable weather.
If today's weather has you feeling down, no worries. Chances are it'll be completely different tomorrow.
12. Encounter a deer in the middle of a rural road.
It's highly likely you'll encounter a deer on one of Alabama's rural roads. Some deer have even been known to dart across major highways.
