If you've lived in Southern California long enough, you've most likely driven past this train-themed restaurant that makes everyone of every age feel like a kid again.
Who knows if it's the all-American food they serve that makes people flock to this spot or if it's the charm of dining in an old train car. But one thing is for sure: this bright yellow restaurant is always bustling, day and night.
Most people know about Carney's Restaurant on Sunset Strip, but did you know there's also a Carney's in Studio City?
Located at 12601 Ventura Blvd in the heart of Studio City, this second Carney's location has been serving up homestyle burgers and hot dogs inside this bright yellow remodeled Pacific Railroad passenger train since the '80s.
It's not very often you see a stretch limo in a casual restaurant like this, but there's something about a restaurant inside a a train that appeals to everyone.
Step inside the train car and order up at the counter. There's nothing fancy about dining at Carney's, but it sure is memorable...
And tasty! Just look at that comfort food. You can't go wrong with a juicy burger and a plate of chili-cheese fries.
Or how about one of their famous hot dogs? You can order a wide variety of hot dogs with catchy names including the Red Baron, the BurgerDog, and the always popular classic Carney's dog. No matter what you order, beware of the trains.
And make sure you save some room for sides. If you are not the chili-fries type, then you must order the sweet potato fries. They just might be the tastiest things on the planet.
One thing you should know is that you'll most likely wait in line. It really doesn't matter what time you show up...Carney's is always packed from open to close.
But never fear, they have outside seating if the inside seats fill up.
Have you been to Carney's in Studio City?
If not, it's worth adding to your bucket list for a day when you're craving a hearty burger and a side of fries covered with chili and cheese. I think I might head there now!
So what's your favorite part -- the burgers and hot dogs? Or the train car? It's kind of hard to decide.
