There are many things that Southern Californians do better than anyone else. Not that we like to brag, but we don't mind tooting our own horn every once in a while. And we also don't mind laughing at ourselves, which is another one of our talents. Here are 11 things that no one does better than a Southern Californian. Do you recognize any of these things on the list?
1. Getting parking tickets.
Parking signs can be quite confusing in SoCal, especially in a big city like Los Angeles, so we have become experts at receiving parking tickets. Not necessarily a good skill, but it's one we all know well.
2. We know a good avocado.
Abundant access to avocados in Southern California has made us experts at knowing a good avocado when we taste one.
3. Surfing.
It may sound like a stereotype, but for many people in SoCal this is quite true.
4. Eating sushi.
We've been eating sushi since the day we could hold chopsticks, so we're quite good at it. Plus, we always know exactly what to order.
5. We are darn good drivers!
We've been driving in crazy conditions our whole lives, so we've learned how to navigate the road with expert skills.
6. We're also really good at cutting people off.
Having crazy-good driving skills means that we won't think twice about cutting you off if you're driving too slow.
7. Finding the best Mexican food restaurants.
We were all born with mad skills to seek and find the BEST Mexican food restaurants, especially if it's a hole-in-the wall.
8. Caring for the environment.
Long before recycling was cool, Southern Californians made recycling accessible and a top priority.
9. Relaxing!
Even when life gets hectic, we sure know how to relax. And there's nothing more relaxing than hanging out at a SoCal beach.
10. We know how to order a fancy coffee.
We have our complicated coffee orders down to a science. Things Like 'Triple Nonfat Soy Latte Half Sweet Extra Foam' rolls of our tongue without even thinking about it.
11. We know how to embrace Christmas at the beach.
We may not get snow in SoCal, but that doesn't stop us from getting into the Christmas spirit even when it feels like summer outside.
What else would you add to the list? I'm sure there are a few more we could come up with.
