Located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, The Last Bookstore has been called California's largest new and used bookstore. Considering it's inside of a former bank with packed bookshelves across two levels, we can definitely see why!
The Last Bookstore boasts 22,000-square-feet of retail space that contains over 250,000 books, tens of thousands of vinyl records and graphic novels, and a mezzanine level with several galleries and shops. A book shop this vast requires several hours to truly appreciate - if not an entire day.
Simply put, it's the type of bookstore that an avid reader will instantly fall in love with. No matter what genre or subject matter is your favorite, The Last Bookstore likely has an entire section devoted to it.
In fact, just the act of exploring the shop's endless bookshelves feels like a fun adventure with something unexpected around every corner. Hidden nooks, bank vaults filled with books, and themed rooms will make you feel like you've wandered down a rabbit hole.
Boasting both new and used books, you never know exactly what treasures you'll dig up during your visit. The Rare Book Annex is an especially great place to peruse. This alluring room is filled with first editions, signed editions, collectibles, and rare art/photography/architecture books.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. An Instagram ad caught my eye during a late-night scroll session and I was intrigued by the colorful compartments and versatility of the bag, which can be carried as a duffle or as a backpack (I prefer the backpack for even weight distribution and airport navigation.) Why I Love It: Fact: Airplanes are notoriously dry, dry, dry. No matter how much water I drink both before and during the flight, I always find myself in a hydration deficit for days. And let’s not forget about Liberty Public Market, a true destination within a destination. Located within Liberty Station’s oldest barrack that housed San Diego’s Naval Training Camp, this marketplace could be a day trip in itself. It is home to restaurants, bars, coffee and bakeries, candy and popcorn boutiques, and a host of specialty shops selling soaps, olive oils, jewelry, records, and more.
Of course, Liberty Station is also a place to relax and unwind. Some 48 acres of scenic parkland are perfect for leisurely picnics, long walks, enjoying some family downtime, and catching gorgeous sunsets.
