♫Fall is in the air, everywhere I look around; Fall is in the air, every sight and every sound.♫ Isn't it wonderful?! Now that the leaves are beginning to show the slightest hues of yellow, orange, and red, it is time to begin planning your fall-time adventures, which is where this little-known, albeit magical South Dakota tunnel of trees comes in:
Welcome again to Good Earth State Park; South Dakota's newest state park that educates the public on history...
...local wildlife...
...and the pristine land that makes the Mount Rushmore State the unique place it is.
In addition to these aforementioned sites, Good Earth is also home to 8 different designated trails, all of which are a mile or less.
While each trail offers something different, our favorite of all would have to be the River Trail, which passes under a few different beautiful tree tunnels!
Sitting at exactly 1-mile, River Trail offers not only cover via these shady trees, but also tranquil views of the untouched prairie and nearby river.
(Can you imagine walking through this when it is ablaze in vibrant reds and oranges?! Heaven on earth!)
Good Earth State Park is located at 26924 480th Ave in Sioux Falls and is open May 1st through September 30 from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and October 1st through April 30th from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
