South Dakota shares its land with much wildlife. Whether it be bison stopping traffic, pheasants in the distance, or fuzzy prairie dogs, our state is full of life. This one hidden site off a dirt road is the absolute best place to see all of the different wildlife roam. After you've visited this attraction, you won't ever see wildlife quite the same.
Welcome to Robert's Prairie Dog Town!
This site is down a dirt road inside Badlands National Park, and is one of the best ways to view South Dakota wildlife.
More specifically, prairie dogs have taken over this area.
At the gift shop across the street, you can buy peanuts to feed to the little furry friends. They may even let you pet them!
In the distance you'll see bison grazing and bighorn sheep roaming.
The prairie dogs are used to people stopping by, so they might even bark at you.
This spot is the perfect photo opportunity to capture wildlife unlike you ever have.
No matter your age, getting to see wildlife and cute prairie dogs up close is an experience to be had.
Robert's Prairie Dog Town is located down Sage Creek Rim Road in Badlands National Park.
