South Carolina is known nationwide for their good people and their southern hospitality, but there's something extra special about the people who live in the small towns. Here are a few reasons why I believe that the small town people in South Carolina are the best people in South Carolina.
1. Small town people are extremely generous people.
2. They appreciate the small things in life and, from someone who has been in both places I have to say that those "small things" are sometimes the BEST things.
3. They are incredibly kind-hearted.
4. And, extremely patient.
5. They are rooted in tradition (and, that's not a bad thing).
6. They value family above all else.
7. They believe in a hard day's work.
8. And they believe that if you work hard then you should be able to play hard at least once in a while.
9. They are understanding.
10. They will listen to you unselfishly.
11. They are honest people.
12. They understand that time is precious, not in the rushed way that city people think. It's the way you can sit on a back porch with your family, your dog, your husband, wife, whatever, and all you do is watch the day pass as you talk or sit in silence. Those moments...those times...they are precious and small town folk seem to understand that more than anyone else.
13. They share what they have whether it's a little or a lot.
14. They are extremely resourceful. It's not like they have a 24-Hour Wal-Mart around every corner ya' know?
I'm sure that these items won't fit everyone you come across, but for the most part these are 100% true blue. What other qualities do you believe small town South Carolina people have? If you would like, you can comment in the comment section below and tell us.
