Normally when I think of sharing food while eating out, it's with appetizers, because I don't want to fill up too much before my entree comes! But at Hook and Barrel in Myrtle Beach, there's an entree dish that is so gigantic, it requires sharing. Well, it's not technically required. But once you see it, you'll understand ...
Hook and Barrel is a delicious seafood restaurant located on North Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach.
Inside, the nautical-themed decor offers a fun, trendy setting with a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The bar circles the center of the dining room and has jellyfish hanging from above.
All South Carolina beers are served on tap, and a wide variety of cocktails are also available as well as an extensive wine selection.
Order your drinks and start your meal out with the bourbon bacon appetizer, a must-try. It's so good that customers say they'd come back again just for it and would love to be able to replicate the recipe at home.
For your entree, you really can't go wrong with anything from the menu or the specials. You'll find the waitstaff to be very knowledgeable and helpful if you should have any questions about anything on the menu. The seafood tower is a unique and memorable dish with a stunning presentation that's fun to share with family or friends.
If you've got anyone in your party who's not into seafood or in the mood for something different, the land menu has several delicious options. Hook and Barrel in Myrtle Beach serves Sunday Brunch, when you can get some of the best chicken and waffles you'll ever have, with a spicy or mild option.
Another reason you won't want to fill up is because you'll want to have room after the appetizer and entree for dessert. The chocolate chip cookie skillet dessert is amazing, but there are plenty of other wonderful options including the chocolate ice cream bomb, key lime pie that's to-die-for, and more.
Visit the Hook and Barrel website and the Hook and Barrel Facebook page for more information and updates. Reservations are strongly recommended, as you can expect to potentially have a long wait without one, even in the off season. If you're planning a beach vacation, check out Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes which is located close to Hook and Barrel.
