When Netflix began planning for filming its series "Outer Banks," the original plan was to film the series in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. But low and behold, there was a political issue that usurped the plans. So Netflix moved filming to the coast in South Carolina; more specifically, to Mount Pleasant and areas in surrounding Charleston.
If you're unfamiliar with "Outer Banks," the show is absolutely set in the Outer Banks, even though filming took place in the Lowcountry.
For those who love the series, you'll be happy to hear there's a guided tour that takes you to several of the regularly featured filming locations used in the series.
If you're a resident or frequent visitor to the Lowcountry, then perhaps you recognized many of them if you watched the series.
Of course Shem Creek is on the tour as it shows up often in the series.
You'll even get to check out one of the most eclectic restaurants on The Creek: The Wreck.
Also be prepared to head to downtown Charleston to see some filming locations, like the Ben Silver store on King Street.
And enjoy the quiet spoils of Washington Park located on Broad Street. This lesser-known park is often overlooked in favor of White Point Garden over at The Battery.
If you love touring famous locations, then the Outer Banks Filming Locations Tour is for you.
And who knows? You just may show up at one of them when filming is actually taking place! Wouldn't that be amazing? Wondering how you book your very own tour of the "Outer Banks" filming locations? Visit the official website for Eclectic Tours in Charleston.
If you're wondering when Season 2 of "Outer Banks" will drop on Netflix, the company recently released news of the Season 2 Premier. It will drop on July 30, 2021. Unfamiliar with this wonderful Netflix series? Learn more about it here!
