One of the greatest things about living in South Carolina is that beach season lasts longer for us than in other areas of the country. And even when we can’t necessarily be in swimsuits with toes in the sand and playing in the water, the mild weather still allows us to enjoy being at the beach. Some of our beaches have tons of attractions, while others are more scenic and secluded. And although Myrtle Beach is the place to be if you’re looking for the former, there are also plenty of fun things to do in North Myrtle Beach, while a quieter and less crowded experience.
One of the most fun things to do in North Myrtle Beach is to play mini golf at Molten Mountain Miniature Golf, which is located on Vereen Road. The course has a cute, engaging Hawaiian theme.
At each hole, your host, Lava Louie, presents interesting facts about volcanoes, Hawaiian language or culture, or gives some "words of wisdom." There's also a wheel players can spin with a challenge to go along with playing that hole.
There are some fun photo ops that make for perfect memorabilia.
As you play the course, you'll walk alongside the massive 50-foot volcano.
The water flowing from the volcano changes color from time to time.
It used to be that the volcano would also erupt every 30 minutes, however, it seems it has perhaps recently gone dormant. Hopefully, it will return to a more active status which added excitement to the golf game.
Molten Mountain also has an indoor course, so you can choose which course to play – or play both! This course is a huge draw for people considering what to do on days the weather is particularly hot or rainy.
After your round or two of golf, another enjoyable activity in North Myrtle Beach is eating at Boardwalk Billy's on 13th Avenue North, a popular spot featuring BBQ, seafood, and drinks.
Its atmosphere is lively and fun, often with music especially during the summer, and beautiful water views. Check the Boardwalk Billy's website for updates on the live entertainment lineup.
Make it a weekend adventure and stay at North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Dry Dock Marina, which has even more fun things to do in North Myrtle Beach, including a flow rider wave pool, a rock climbing wall, and more. Have you ever been to any of these attractions at the beach? What's your favorite type of beach entertainment?
