It's hard to imagine the fall season without festivals, especially food festivals! Fortunately in the Palmetto State we don't have to. Festivals are plentiful around the state between now and the holiday season. Enjoy some local flare at these upcoming fun and inviting South Carolina festivals.
1. Western Carolina State Fair - Aiken, SCOctober 20 - October 29, 2016
Get ready for the whole sha-bang at this annual event that runs through October 29, 2016. This event features food vendors galore, plus a midway, a demolition derby and a hypnotist. More information can be found here,
2. Annual Walhalla Oktoberfest - Walhalla, SCOctober 21 - October 23, 2016
Get your fix of bratwurst & sauerkraut, funnel cakes, Strudel and american fare like barbeque and blooming onions at this annual event taking place on the Sertoma field in Walhalla. More information can be found here.
3. Hook & Cook Festival - Jackson, SCOctober 21 - October 22, 2016
Head over to Main Street in Jackson for a festival befitting of the name. A fishing contest culminates in a cooking contest. The weekend includes live music, a fishing tournament, a can't miss car show and a whole lot of fun for the whole family. More information can be found here.
4. Oktoberfest of Woodruff - Woodruff, SCOctober 22, 2016
Get ready for a day full of activity and great German fare at McKinney Park in Woodruff. Live music, dancing, German food and drink and a wonderful Christmas market are but a few of the things on tap at this great festival in Woodruff. More information can be found here.
5. Habersham Harvest Festival - Beaufort, SCOctober 22 - October 23, 2016
Celebrate fall with a bounty of foods prepared by local eateries and showcasing local farming. This two-day street festival features a vintage theme and is definitely a great event for a day of family fun. More information can be found here.
6. Coastal Carolina Fair - Ladson, SCOctober 29 - November 6, 2016
Now in its 59th year, this Lowcountry event is legendary for the midways, the food, the entertainment they attract, and their exhibits - especially the animals! More information can be found here.
7. Pig On The Ridge - Ridgeway, SCNovember 4 - November 5, 2016
This is definitely a family-friendly event you don't want to miss, especially if you love BBQ! Look for children's activities and craft sale and then some. More information can be found here.
8. The Charleston Mac Off - Mount Pleasant, SCNovember 5 - November 6, 2016
Who will be the 2016 King of Mac? Find out at this fun festival at The Grove at Patriots Point. More than 25 local restaurants will be on hand improving this savory dish with their own culinary twists. Expect live music and activites for the kids at this two day event on Charleston's harbor in Mt. Pleasant. More information can be found here.
9. South Carolina Pecan Festival - Florence, SCNovember 5, 2016
This annual event is always huge and fun! More than 250 food and craft vendors are set to pull into town for this one-day event in Florence. Expect fun for the whole family, including an antique tractor show, a pecan cookoff and more! More information can be found here.
10. Taste of Georgetown - Georgetown, SCNovember 5, 2016
From 12:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. along Front Street and in Francis Marion Park you can enjoy a Taste of Georgetown and support a local charity at the same time. 11. Decadent Dreams Chocolate Extravaganza - Rock Hill, SCNovember 10, 2016
Chocolate lovers rejoice! There's a festival for you too! The upcoming Decadent Dreams Chocolate Extravaganza in Rock Hill even promises to have a good old-fashioned chocolate throwdown where ladies and their chocolate compete for best in show. More information can be found here.
