If you're among the few South Carolina residents who need an extra nudge to get inspired enough to fight the crowds at Myrtle Beach, then consider this your nudge: There's a dinosaur-themed cafe in Myrtle Beach that's beyond fun... and not just for the kids. Even the 'kids at heart' in the family will have a blast at this unusual eatery.
Welcome to DinoLand Cafe, a dinosaur and dragon-themed restaurant that premiered last summer on the Grand Strand.
Don't feel bad if you're just now hearing about, though. Afterall, it opened in the middle of the pandemic.
You'll find it over on Kings Highway (Business 17), wedged somewhere between the Myrtle Beach International Airport and the Myrtle Beach Skywheel. Want to skip the horrendous traffic? Why not take a micro-regional flight to the airport and Uber the short distance to the restaurant... unless that's too over the top. If so, just pop in the car and go... it's absolutely worth the aggravation of fighting the traffic.
For starters, the littles in your family will love it.
The spacious restaurant is laden with seemingly life-sized creatures that have been extinct for ages and ages.
From dinos to dragons, this place has it all!
And most of them are in perfect spots for posing for photos.
We love the pterodactyl in the far corner with a couple of cracked open eggs the kids (and you) can climb in for keepsake photos!
For certain, if you have a member of the family that is quite simply dino-crazed, then this is the place to go!
It doesn't matter how old you are, posing with a prehistoric creature like the ones found here is a fun experience.
And even laughable, at times. You (and the kiddos) are sure to have fun while scarfing down some delicious American fare featuring meat, seafood, and pasta dishes.
Just when you thought that last trip to Myrtle Beach was the last one for a while... along comes a destination restaurant that's a total game changer.
What's more: many of the dinosaurs are powered with animatronics, so they move! Woa. Yes, please!
Also, be sure to skip a meal or two before you head to DinoLand; not only is the food delicious, but the portions are also enormous.
Of course, if you forget to starve yourself before the trip to Myrtle Beach, those leftovers will heat up nicely once you get them home... assuming you don't eat them in the car on the way back to your house.
By the way, some items on the menu are off the chain, like the 32-ounce Caveman's Steak. Think you can eat two full pounds of mouthwatering bone-in Rib-Eye?
And the popular dessert known as the Dragon Egg.
This huge chocolate egg is filled with fruits. Crack it open and dig in!
Think of this dining experience as similar to one of the dinner shows in M.B.
Some people experience a little sticker shock when the bill arrives, but the experience is worth the extra dough you'll spend for this fun day trip.

After you stuff yourself and fill up your phone with keepsake photos at DinoLand, pop over to the #1 attraction in Myrtle Beach and prepare for one of the best views in the state!
