Do you perk up at the very mention of bacon? Have you ever gotten out of bed, discovered there was no bacon in the house and driven all the way to the store just so you could have bacon with your breakfast? Would you ever eat a pretzel wrapped in bacon and then dipped in chocolate? Whether you answered yes to any or all of the above is irrelevant: either way, you won't want to miss the 5th annual Bacon Labor Day festival this year.
It's happening for two bacon and fun-filled days in Travelers Rest.
There is a little something for everyone at this annual event. Aside from bacon, amusement rides will be on hand both days and an antique car show rolls into the event on Monday.
On top of that, you definitely don't have to be shy about your love for bacon at this festival — where you're surrounded by thousands who feel exactly the same way.
The festival features a bacon "strip" filled with food vendors featuring flavorful creations including, you guessed it, BACON. Don't pass up the chocolate-covered bacon delights, like the bacon pretzel dipped in chocolate. Mmm. So good!
Or the bacon pound cake. (Go ahead, stuff your face... we won't judge.) Save room for a bacon funnel cake, or other traditional bacon-infused fair food, like bacon cheese fries, a bacon-wrapped deep fried hot dog - and more!
Other fair vendors will be on site too! You can load up on arts and crafts from local vendors in between your bacon binges.
Hit up the Pork Barrel for beer and wine selections, and enjoy some live music over at the Bacon Jam (a.k.a. the stage area).
Two fun-filled, bacon-lovin' days are only weeks away! Get this event on your calendar asap so you won't miss it. Sunday, September 2, 2018 and Monday September 3, 2018.
The 5th Annual Bacon Labor Day will be held at Trailblazer Park, 235 Trailblazer Dr. (formerly Wilhelm Winter St.), Travelers Rest, SC. Admission is $3/person, a group of 4 is $10 for the whole group, and children 5 and under are free. (Sorry, you'll need to leave the dog at home, the City of T.R. does not allow dogs into this park.) For more information, or to become a vendor, refer to the official website of Bacon Labor Day 2018.
