We all hear about the beaches, but there's not a lot of talk about these beautiful waterfalls located throughout the state. While some are century old damns in the heart of small towns, others are simply natural wonders. Have you seen all 10 of these stunning sites?
1. Blackstone Dam, North Smithfield
The Blackstone River was once at the heart of the industrial revolution. There are several dams to be found in Rhode Island and Massachusetts dating back to this historical era.
2. Harrisville Falls, Burrillville
The charming small village of Harrisville located in Burrillville is known for lovely hiking trails. This beautiful damn is located in the heart of the town.
3. Roundtop Fishing Area, Burrillville
The Northern Rhode Island town of Burrillville is also known for its fishing. These stunning falls can be found at the Round Top Fishing Brook, a seasonally stocked fishing spot.
4. Kenyon Mill Falls, South Kingston
South Kingstown has amazing beaches, great restaurants, and stunning nature walks. It also has this waterfall located near Kenyon's Grist Mill.
5. Slater Mill Dam, Pawtucket
Slater Mill Historic Site is the place to go for living history. Guided tours of the mills with live reenactments and even ghost tours are a fun activity for those interested in the Industrial Revolution. This dam is massive and a beautiful place to sit beside and have lunch while exploring the mills.
6. Pawtuxet Falls, Pawtuxet Village
Pawtuxet Village is a seaside village located where the cities of Cranston and Warwick meet. The word "pawtuxet" means "little falls" in the language native to the Narragansett Indians. These little falls inspired the name of the village and add to its charm.
7. Robin Hollow Pond Falls, Cumberland
Robin Hollow Pond is a popular fishing destination in Cumberland and is home to these gorgeous falls.
8. Woonsocket Falls Dam, Woonsocket
Woonsocket Village was founded in the 1820s and thrived during the Industrial Revolution. This is yet another impressive dam along the Blackstone River.
9. Albion Falls, Lincoln
An amazing walking path runs along this part of the Blackstone River in Lincoln where the Albion Falls are situated.
10. White Rock Dam, North Kingstown
White Rock Dam can be found on the Pawcatuck River, a 34-mile river flowing between Connecticut and Rhode island.
