You'll find Taunton Avenue Bakery on, unsurprisingly, Taunton Avenue in East Providence, where it has been since 2016.
The bakery itself is much older, but unfortunately, they had to close their doors for awhile after a fire at the original location.
Although the bakery keeps true to its Portuguese roots, they also sell Italian French, and American goodies.
And the artisan bread selection is out of this world.
Maggie and Tiago Soares own this charming shop, both of them having moved to Rhode Island as teenagers (from the Azores and Lisbon, Portugal respectively).
They've designed this sweet, heavenly space that opens bright and early every morning for your convenience.

Aside from a large variety of freshly baked breads, expect to see donuts, pasteis de nata (custard pies), pumpkin fritters, cupcakes, pies, and a host of other delicacies for sale.
