For a tiny state, Rhode Island has no shortage of fabulous restaurants. It could take years to eat your way across the entire state. But as the warm weather starts creeping in, some of our favorite warm-weather eateries are reopening for the season and we couldn't be happier. Those cravings you've been having all winter can finally be satisfied. Here are eight scrumptious restaurants that deserve a spot on your seasonal dining bucket list.

1. Pink Pig BBQ, Jamestown

BBQ fans have been patiently awaiting the reopening of this delicious spot. Pink Pig BBQ offers tender and flavorful meats that have been smoked 10-14 hours before hitting your plate. We’re incredibly fortunate to live in a region that’s home to an eclectic collection of restaurants and some of the best food in the country, where we can indulge in every type of cuisine imaginable. While we all likely have our favorite restaurants in Rhode Island, those go-to spots for a guaranteed good meal, sometimes it’s fun to try new-to-us eateries. Next time you’re craving Mexican, reserve a table at this Mexican restaurant in Providence, Rhode Island, that serves all of the classics.

Treat your taste buds to an explosion of flavor at Dolores PVD, a popular neighborhood restaurant focusing on cuisine from the Mixteca region of Mexico. The food is so revered that Chef Maria Meza earned a nod as a James Beard Award finalist for Best Chef in the Northeast in 2024. It consistently earns rave reviews from diners, too, who describe the food and the restaurant as “a culinary gem,” “delicious,” “authentic,” and “the best Mexican food in Providence.”

Chances are pretty good that your first visit won’t be your last, especially with the many tasty choices on the menu. Start with one of the traditional appetizers. The guacamole with corn tostadas, salsa with tostadas, and quesadillas de queso each promise a scrumptious start to your meal.

If you’re all about tacos, you’ve come to the right place. Dolores PVD’s menu offers nearly a half dozen types of tacos, including pulled pork, beef brisket, and fried shrimp. With all the deliciousness on the menu, you might have a tough time deciding what to order. Cure that taco craving and try another dish by ordering tacos for the table, which features six chicken, pulled pork, or beef brisket tacos.

While enchiladas, which come with rice and refried beans, are always a good choice, take a peek at the entrees, too. All come with tortillas, rice, and beans, promising a flavorful meal that’s sure to fill you up. For a meaty meal, order the carne asada, marinated flank steak, or the Costilla en mole pasilla, short ribs with zucchini and roasted potatoes. The Chile relleno, a poblano pepper stuffed with queso, is also a must-try.

Dining out has certainly gotten pricier in recent years. Long gone are the days when we can consistently eat out for less than $10 per person. But, some delightful gems still promise a delicious meal at a price that can’t be beat. We just have to know where to look. This iconic bar and kitchen in Rhode Island boasts an impressive menu and prices that will make you think you’ve been whisked back to the good, old days.

The affordable prices aren't the only thing that is going to make you feel as though you’ve time-traveled, some say to the ‘60s, at Ogie’s Trailer Park in Providence, a bar and kitchen with a laidback vibe, trailer park theme, and indoor and outdoor seating. The menu’s jam-packed with deliciousness, too.

While you can grab a drink at the bar, head over to the window of Granny Boo’s Kitchen to put in your order. If you’re on a tight budget, you’ll find quite a few dishes and sides for under $10, although there are some slightly higher. Sometimes a snack just hits the spot, and Granny Boo’s offers some tasty options, including soft pretzel sticks, jalapeno poppers with ranch, and pizza logs.

Do you ever just get a mad craving for tater tots? Ogie’s has you covered. While I’m old-school and prefer crispy tots that I dip in mustard, this classic kitchen serves a variety of tots that are sure to send your taste buds into a tizzy. The All The Way tots come topped with chili, cheese, mustard, and diced onions while the French Canadian is all about gravy, fried egg, goat cheese, and bacon.

One of my favorite things to eat when I’m out, because it is such a blast from the past, is a good, old-fashioned PB&J. You can order one here, or try a hot dog. (Vegan dogs are available, too.) You can even turn that classic Ogieville System – with meat sauce, celery salt, mustard, and onion – into the vegan version of a hot wiener.

If you think Ogie’s Trailer Park is super cool (it is), you’re going to love this. It even has a menu for pups. Treat your beloved pooch to a tasty meal. Burgers, chicken breasts, and bacon are all pooch-approved, but if you really want to spoil your dog, order the Champ, a bacon cheeseburger he’ll surely scarf down.
