The last thing you want to worry about when you're feeling sick is whether or not you'll receive adequate patient care. Unfortunately, this is a valid concern since not every hospital offers the same quality. Lucky for us Rhode Islanders, the smallest state offers many reliable places to go when you're not feeling well. Since no one should ever have to wonder where to go when things get serious, we looked at HealthGrove's ratings and compiled this list of 8 great hospitals in Rhode Island.
1. Miriam Hospital, Providence
This acute care hospital ranks extremely high in patient satisfaction. It is also home to a nationally acclaimed cancer center.
2. Rhode Island Hospital, Providence
This Providence based hospital ranks high in quality of care and is home to a nationally acclaimed burn center as well as cancer center.
3. Newport Hospital, Newport
This not-for-profit hospital is found in Newport and is a lifespan partner. It ranks above average in both patient satisfaction and doctor to patient communication.
4. South County Hospital, Wakefield
South County Hospital is found in Wakefield and received a 5 out of 5 for overall patient experience. It is another outstanding acute care hospital in the state.
5. Women & Infants, Providence
Women and Infants hospital is considered one of the best speciality hospitals for women and infants in the entire country. It also ranks strongly in overall patient satisfaction and is highly likely to be recommended by former patients.
6. Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket
Though this Pawtucket hospital ranks nowhere near as highly as those before it on this list, it does rank exceptionally well in doctor to patient communication and is conveniently located in Pawtucket.
7. Westerly Hospital, Westerly
Westerly Hospital has an overall rating of 78 out of 100, making it above average on a national level, but not as fine of a choice as its predecessors on this list.
8. Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket
Landmark Medical Center is the highest ranked Woonsocket hospital and also has an overall rating of 78 out of 100.
We hope you won't need to visit any of these hospitals in Rhode Island soon, but if you do, at least you can go with confidence!
