Simmons Organic Farm is a 300-year-old 120-acre family farm in Middletown. It's beautiful, peaceful, and packed with adorable animals. And for the next month, you can hike around this relaxing rural property with a bunch of sweet little goats.
Simmons Farm is located in the heart of Middletown, where they've been cultivating delicious food for centuries.
The farm is certified organic and specializes in growing traditional and heirloom produce.
Their produce can be found at local Farmers Markets as well as the large farm stand on the property...
... but as tasty as the fresh vegetables and herbs are, most people visit for the animals.
The petting zoo is perfect for getting your little ones acquainted with farm animals. But adults tend to enjoy the interactions with the goats.
From now through April 26, you have a unique opportunity to go hiking with goats at the farm.
The weekly goat hikes were started by Karla Simmons, who wanted to create a fun way to get through winter. They've been so popular that they're continuing through April.
The goat hikes, which are held every Saturday and Sunday (plus a few week days in April), are two hours long and led by Karla herself.
And you'll get to walk your very own goat the entire time.
The hikes cost $20 per adult, and for that price, you can bring two children with you (and you'll get one goat to walk).
They also offer family packages for $75. And if you'd simply like to come along for the walk without a goat, you'll pay just $10.
This is an absolutely adorable way to get some exercise and experience a little farm life.
Simmons Farm also leads Goat Yoga classes when the weather warms up, so it's safe to say you can always get your goat fix here.
