Adventure seekers flock to Wawaloam Campground in Exeter every summer for a bit of warm weather fun, but when Christmastime rolls around? Then the magic really begins.
Every Christmas, the popular Rhode Island campground lights up for its dazzling Festival of Lights drive-thru lights display. One visit, in fact, is likely to turn into a beloved holiday tradition.
Leisurely drive through the one-mile trail that shimmers with more than a million lights. Snap photos of the whimsical light displays - like Santa and Mrs. Claus waving as you drive by.
The lights are even synced to all of the season's popular tunes.
Make sure you turn off your headlights for your drive along the winding path; the lights along the way are more than sufficient to help you stay on the road.
Carve out between 20 and 25 minutes for your drive. All guests must remain in their vehicles for the entire experience. (There are no bathrooms at the campground.)
The Festival of Lights usually runs on select nights, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., from late November through the end of the year. Tickets, which are per vehicle, can be purchased online.
