In Rhode Island, we are known for miles of stunning coastline and shoreline clam shacks. What's often overlooked is our farming community. This local business in Exeter has combined the old-school tradition of farming with the newer trend of beer-making to create the Ocean State's first farm brewery. This place is 100 percent as fantastic as it sounds.
The Tilted Barn Brewery can be found in a historic barn on a working farm. You can enjoy the country air and knock back some hand-crafted beer at this charming locale.
The business began as Ocean State Hops, Rhode Island's first commercial hops farm. Now with the opening of the brewery, they handcraft their own beer with the ingredients grown on the farm.
The farm brewery is much more than just a place to go have a frosty one. Wander through the fields and see exactly what goes into that beer. Learn about the history of hops farming and the brewing process during your visit.
Afterward unwind in the century old barn while sampling their wonderful product. Owners Matt and Kara have opened their doors wide to visitors from all over the state and beyond.
The beer selection is an extensive list of blends that will make your taste buds sing with delight.
Don't make the mistake of thinking this is an adults only party. People of any age are welcome to visit the farm, they just can't sample the beer without being 21.
Visit the barn for tours, tastings, and sales of cans on Fridays from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
