Winter weather is in full effect in Rhode Island, meaning more of us are choosing to stay inside. Luckily, our state has plenty of indoor fun that will help you beat those winter blues. And if you have yet to visit our charming vintage bowling alley, BreakTime Bowl and Bar, this is a fantastic time to check it out.
BreakTime Bowl and Bar is located in Pawtucket, where it has been since it was built in the 1920s by Hope Webbing Company in an effort to prevent its employees from unionizing.
The effort eventually failed, and the owners decided to leave the bowling alley open indefinitely. We're very glad they did.
The space has been renovated and preserved, so it still maintains its original charms.
Bowling here definitely feels like going back in time.
The original 1920s bowling alley is a fantastic place to hang out -- in fact, you can even rent it for a private party.
Reservations are available, but only two hours in advance (and for parties of six or less).
Bowl and Bar is an appropriate name for this place -- the bar is fully stocked, and you can enjoy beer, wine, and practically any cocktail.
And with cocktail specials like the Sweet Juniper and Spicy Brit, you'll want to try them all... but perhaps not on the same night.

The vintage bar is a quiet place to relax when you need a break from bowling.
Some people choose to skip bowling entirely and hang out here. Since bowling is a blast, we do not recommend this action.
When you visit, come hungry -- BreakTime Bowl and Bar has a tasty menu of pub classics made by The Village Market (formerly Brick Oven On Main).
From fish & chips and burgers to brick oven pizza, you'll find what you're craving on the menu.
Come bowl in this charming antique alley with someone special or a group.
They're open Tuesday - Sunday. And while hours vary, they're almost always open until at least 11 p.m.
Have you ever bowled at BreakTime Bowl and Bar? Children are allowed inside until 8 p.m., so consider this your new family-friendly winter activity.
