If you've ever been to Bayberry Beer Hall in Providence, you know it's quite a unique -- and beautiful -- space, more refined than you might expect a German-American beer hall to look. There's a reason for that -- it was designed in honor of the grandfather of one of the owners, who once had a coastal cabin in Maine he affectionately named Bayberry due to all the bayberry bushes surrounding it.
Bayberry Beer Hall is still wildly successful. And recently, the owners, Tom and Natalie Dennen, opened a garden-themed eatery nearby. Bayberry Garden is just as enchanting as it looks, and the food is phenomenal.
Tom and Natalie had been planning to open Bayberry Garden for quite some time.
They had originally intended to open in the fall of 2020, but with all the uncertainty and stress of the year, they held off until the spring of 2021.
The eatery is located inside the Wexford Innovation Center in Providence.
As you can see, the garden theme is taken very seriously. The name Bayberry remains as a tribute to Tom's grandfather's Maine cabin.
The garden theme doesn't just stick to the decor.
Everything served here is fresh, nourishing, and almost entirely local.
Feast on freshly shucked oysters from the raw bar or try some Ora King Salmon Crudo.
The seafood, both raw and cooked, is second to none.
If you prefer your food to come from the land, you're in luck -- the menu has plenty of chicken, steak, pasta, and roasted vegetables to choose from.
The cuisine is a bit more refined than the food at Bayberry Beer Hall, but it's also unpretentious and unintimidating.
If you imbibe, try one of the signature cocktails before pairing a perfect wine with your meal.
The craft cocktails here are absolute works of art.
Bayberry Garden is currently open Tuesday - Sunday at 5 p.m. for dinner service.
They close at 9 p.m. on Sunday, 11 p.m. Tuesday - Thursday, and midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Have you enjoyed a meal at Bayberry Garden yet? There's no time like the present.
