We, Pittsburghers, love our pizza, don’t we? And, when it comes to which eatery serves the best pizza in the Burgh, well, it all depends on who you ask. We all have our favorites, but have you ever wondered what neighborhoods have some of the best pizzerias in Pittsburgh? Squirrel Hill? The South Side? Or, how about the Strip District? Today, let’s take a look at just a few of the delightful pizzerias in the lively Pittsburgh neighborhood of the Strip District.

1. Romulus Pizza al Taglio

Craving pizza, Roman-style? Head over to the PA Market, where you can order a piping hot slice of Romulus Pizza al Taglio’s famous pizza. The market offers both indoor and outdoor seating, where you can dig into a slice or two of classic pepperoni, Margherita, or traditional Sicilian pizza. If you really like unique pizza, try the Italian hoagie pizza when it’s available. (Yep! It tastes just like a hoagie – with the ham, salami, and mozzarella – but it’s served in pizza form.)

2. Enrico Biscotti

Enrico Biscotti might not exclusively be a pizzeria, but it certainly serves scrumptious pizza. All of the Café’s pizza is made in a brick oven. You have quite a few types of pizza from which to choose, too, including the classic pepperoni, white pizza, or the pizza of the day. While you’re at the bakery and café, make sure you try the biscotti, too. Enrico Biscotti serves breakfast and lunch.

3. Pizzeria Davide

Grab a delicious pizza to go from Pizzeria Davide, which serves everything from the Old World-Style pie to New York-Style pizza. The popular Strip District pizzeria even features the marinara, a vegan alternative. Top your pie with an assortment of meats and cheeses, such as Lebanon sweet bologna, salami, pineapple, and broccoli. The pizzeria also serves other popular foods, including wings, salads, and garlic knots with marinara.

4. Iron Born Pizza

Tucked in the Smallman Galley, Iron Born Pizza promises a delightfully flavorful experience. (It also features a Millvale location, if that’s closer to you. The photo above is of the Millvale storefront.) Go to Iron Born really hungry. All pies are eight by 10 inches with some of the thickest crust you’ve probably ever seen. Choose from such classics as the Cheese Pie and the Detroit Red Top Pie. Seasonal pies range from broccoli cheddar pie to Hawaiian pie.

5. Bella Notte

Cure your craving for pizza at Bella Notte, a popular pizzeria that also serves pasta, salads, and hoagies. Build your own pizza at Bella Notte, or choose from one of the specialty pizzas. How does the BBQ or the five cheese pizza sound? If you’ve never had breakfast pizza, head to Bella Notte on weekend mornings until noon. Dig into a breakfast pizza with ham, bacon, and hot sausage, or opt for the veggie version.
