Over the hill and through the woods...soon, we might be heading to Grandma's house for the holidays. Until then, however, we've got a ton to do, including picking the Christmas tree that will decorate our home. If you pick a fresh tree each year, you'll definitely want to add a trip to this Christmas tree farm near Pittsburgh to your holiday to do list.
Turn up the Christmas carols for your picturesque drive to Grupp's Christmas Tree Farm, in Harmony, less than 45 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh.
The charming Christmas tree farm, in fact, earned a nod from Pittsburgh Magazine as one of the best Christmas tree farms in the area. You'll have to judge for yourself, however, by visiting.
Dress for the weather, especially if you want to cut your own tree down. When you arrive at the farm, you'll receive a saw and a cart for your tree.
Meander through the rows of Christmas trees, including Scotch Pine and Blue Spruce, until you find the perfect one. If you'd prefer a pre-cut tree, you can choose from an assortment of majestic Fraser Fur trees.
Once you've picked your tree, head back to the bailing area. Still up for some more holiday fun? Go indoors for a bite to eat and a drink.
Explore the quaint shop, too, brimming with decorations and other items that will make unique Christmas gifts.
Before you bid a fond farewell to the farm, snap a photo of the kids in front of the Grow Up With Grupp's display.
