For many of us, ambiance plays a role in the restaurants at which we choose to dine. After all, if we feel comfortable, we're more likely to return to the restaurant again, right? Well, Pittsburgh boasts some pretty amazing restaurants with unique ambiances that will take your dining experience to the next level. Like Bar Marco, a charming restaurant in Pittsburgh that once served as a firehouse. Take a look.
Nestled in a former firehouse in the Strip District, Bar Marcos offers a unique culinary experience - from the setting to the menu.
Pull up at chair in the bright and airy eatery, or opt for a seat at the bar.
Considered a wine bar with an impressive menu, Bar Marco opened in 2011. Today, it's become a popular spot for diners and wine connoisseurs.
Peruse the dinner menu that offers such starters as a charcuterie, a selection of cheeses, a beet salad, or a kale Caesar salad.
Then, again, maybe you want to dive right in with an entree. Entrees range from ricotta gnudi to rigatoni.
Or, try the smoked brisket, bone-in pork chop, or Clare Island salmon. Pair your meal with a white, rose, or red wine.
Bar Marco also serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Choose from an assortment of delectable dishes, including apple crisp pancakes, scrambled eggs, pork Milanese, and the Marco burger.
Of course, if you're up for a really unique experience, reserve a spot in the wine room, which features a 10-seat communal table. There, you'll enjoy a five-course meal, each course matched with a different wine. (Reservations are required.)
Sit down to a delicious meal at Bar Marco, open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. And, brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Bar Marco is located at 2216 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
