Horse Inn in Lancaster boasts a rich history, from its earliest beginnings, in 1911, as a stable where horses lived and hay was stored.
By the beginning of the 1920s, however, original owner William Staub decided to clean out the stable and convert it into a speakeasy, with the speakeasy eventually evolving into a restaurant and bar.
Today, the guests at the Horse Inn can grab a seat at the bar, built in the late 1800s, or sit at a table in one of the converted horse stalls.
In fact, when you dine at Horse Inn, you'll feel as though you're in the stables - from the stalls and horse-themed decor to drinking with a hay straw.
The restaurant, now owned by Matt and Starla Russell, offers a seasonal menu, made with fresh ingredients.
Browse the menu that features such popular dishes as the Horse Inn cheeseburger, pumpkin linguine, tips 'n toast, and shrimp and grits.
And, pair your main entree with a scrumptious side - fries, roasted potatoes, or sauteed green beans.
Then, cap off your meal with a delectable dessert, such as the chocolate pot de creme or apple pie topped with ice cream.
Embrace the unique atmosphere at Horse Inn Lancaster, which welcomes guests from 5 p.m. to midnight Tuesday to Thursday and 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
