German towns in Pennsylvania are a delight, especially since a European vacation sits atop many of our bucket lists. But the fact is, we don't all have the time, the funds, or the ability to hop on a plane for the continent. That doesn't mean that we can't experience the charm or the culture of European countries, though. We can do just that, in fact, with a visit to Stoudtburg Village, a European village in Adamstown, Pennsylvania.
From the moment you arrive at Stoudtburg Village, you'll feel as though you've arrived in a quaint German town, and that's just how it's meant to be.
Nestled in the tiny town of Adamstown in Lancaster County, Stoudtburg Village PA is the dream come true for Edward and Carol Stoudt. A native German, Edward wanted to recreate his hometown of Rothenburg right here in Pennsylvania.
The couple's quest began in 1996, and their goal was simple: To create an authentic German village, where residents can live and have their own shops.
Today, the quaint village is predominately comprised of residential homes, although there are a smattering of shops that are open each week from Friday through Sunday.
Current shops include Fire Kissed Jewelry, The Little Dollhouse, and Village Perk and Crafts. You can find a little bit of everything in this darling German village.
