Our bucket lists get a pretty hefty workout, especially if we live in PA. After all, we just have so much to do and to see in PA that it would probably take a lifetime to tick all of it off of our bucket list. Even if you're selective about what ends up on your coveted list, consider exploring this cave in Pennsylvania that offers plenty of adventure under and above ground.
Get ready for an underground adventure - 125 feet below the surface, to be exact - at Crystal Cave, touted as "The Most Popular Natural Attraction in Pennsylvania."
But, be sure to wear comfy shoes and have a jacket handy as the caverns maintain a temperature of 54 degrees Fahrenheit all year around.
Kick off your underground adventure with an insightful 13-minute film that gives you a glimpse into the cave's rich history.
Then, you'll embark on a nearly hour-long tour underground, led by seasoned, knowledgeable guides.
Snap photos of the stalagmites, stalactites, and dripstone formations, including the Ear of Corn, the Natural Bridge, and the Giant's Tooth.
And, if you've got spare change, drop a coin or two into the wishing well. (Don't forget to make a wish!)
Of course, you'll find plenty more to do when you head back above ground. Crystal Cavern also features a mini golf course, an ice cream parlor (open June through September), and gemstone panning.
Plan your underground adventure at Crystal Cave. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the cave welcomes visitors from March 1 through November 30 each year.
Crystal Cave is located at 963 Crystal Cave Rd., Kutztown, PA 19530.
