Oregon is a nature lover's paradise, that's for sure. Whether you prefer the highest mountain peaks or the endless horizon of the ocean, there's always a secluded place for you to surround yourself with Oregon's most beautiful natural landscape. This fun little day trip happens to include both, plus a unique place to rest your head after a long day of exploring. Check out Beverly Beach yurts:
Located in Benton County, Marys Peak is the highest peak in the Oregon Coast Range.
Perfect for those who crave the best of both worlds. You’re not too far away from the coast, but you still get to enjoy the peaks and valleys of the mountain range.
The trail to the summit is just over five miles and is filled with stunning scenery each step of the way.
It’s a fairly moderate trail, but you will be gaining a lot of elevation in those five miles.
Depending on the time of year you visit, your path could be peppered with beautiful wildflowers, which is always a welcome sight.
You might even spot some wildlife along the way.
As you start to reach the summit, the forest opens up to some sensational views.
The trail is a nice mix of being shaded from the Noble Firs and open trails where you can see for miles.
Standing tall at 4,097 feet, the view from Marys Peak will leave you speechless.
Good thing there’s a bench to sit for a spell and take it all in. On a clear day, you can see both the Pacific Ocean to the west and many of the Cascade peaks and Willamette Vally to the east.
After your hike, head over to Beverly Beach State Park.
It’s about 62 miles from Marys Peak, and the drive shouldn’t take but about an hour and a half.
Here, you can enjoy beautiful forested trails as well as the wide-open beach.
And you're also within a few miles of some of the best whale-watching locations in Oregon. Something to keep in mind if you're visiting during the winter months!
After all of that exploring, it's time to rest your head.
If you're not a big fan of tent camping but you still want to experience the joys of camping, a yurt is a wonderful hybrid.
These yurts can sleep up to five people.
You’ll have a combination of bunk beds, double beds, and futons with vinyl mattresses. Remember to bring your own bedding, these yurts are the bare essentials.
You will have electricity, though, which isn't always the case when you stay in a yurt.
At the end of the day, head back down to the beach to catch one of Oregon's sunsets.
Sunsets over the Pacific just hit differently, and you'll have a front-row seat to a spectacular sunset here.
Ready to book your stay? Head over to Beverly Beach State Park's website for rates and availability before you visit this breathtaking state park.
