Spending a day or two at Mt Hood every winter is an experience that you don't want to miss. Escape the city this year and head to this lovely small resort on the mountain for an experience like no other.
Cooper Spur Mountain Resort has been in operation on the north face of Mt Hood since 1885.
First of all, the views are spectacular. Situated 23 miles south of Hood River, Cooper Spur Mountain Resort is a picturesque location for your next getaway.
Featuring a mix of lodging, including five log cabins, three lodge condo suites, six lodge motel rooms, and a four-bedroom log house, there is something for every kind of adventure here.
Downhill skiing and tubing is located at the Cooper Mountain Ski Area, just 2 1/2 miles from the resort.
There are 10 runs, a double chair lift, and three rope tows for your skiing enjoyment.
There is plenty of opportunity for Nordic skiing and snowshoeing right from the resort on the groomed trails around it.
Plenty of snow makes it just fun to hang around and make a snowman too.
To warm up, there is the Crooked Tree Tavern, serving a bevy of locally sourced food, wine and beer.
This warm wooden tavern is the perfect place to enjoy a little downtime on the mountain and warm up with a refreshing hot meal.
Don't stay inside for long...there is so much to see and do.
Younger guests will enjoy the tubing carousel and spending the day at this lively resort with plenty of opportunity for snow play and fun.
Along with all the fun in the snow, there are two hot tubs to help you warm up after a long day on the mountain.
And there is nothing more comforting than relaxing in a beautiful log cabin after a day on the slopes.
