If you’re like me, you dream of Hawaii. I love the gorgeous beaches, the sun, the sand beneath my toes, the warm blue water, the tropical vibe, and the gracious, friendly locals. I also long for the delicious local cuisine. But, as much as I’d like to, I don’t have to get on a plane to enjoy this mouth-watering food. Instead, I just head to my favorite takeout spot, 808 Grinds.

This hidden gem offers outstanding, authentic Hawaiian cuisine at a Southeast Portland food truck and two restaurants in the Portland metro area, one in Beaverton and the other in Hillsboro. These spots offer crowd-pleasing (and kid-friendly) Hawaiian comfort food at its best, from savory shredded chicken and rice to pulled pork and cole slaw. I’ve had just about everything on the menu, and believe me, you really can’t go wrong.
